All doctors at Carlson-Tillisch are all trained to detect early signs of diabetic eye disease and can create a plan, with your primary care doctor, to help maintain healthy eyes and bodies.
Uncontrolled diabetes can affect small blood vessels, such as the ones inside your eyes and your kidneys. Not only can diabetes compromise your overall health it can also lead to early cataracts and glaucoma. A dilated eye exam allows us to non-invasively see your tiny vessels that supply blood to the retina to ensure they are healthy, and is the only way to diagnosis diabetic retinopathy.
